Can’t return my display to it’s normal size – Windows 10 Support

DabbiDooDa Posted on April 17, 2020, at 6:42 p.m. After starting up Assassin’s Creed on my desktop, I saw that my monitor display had been zoomed in to the point that the task bar was hardly visible, Chrome tabs were no longer accessible, and the image had become much more hazy. The problem is that my resolution is still set to 1920×1080, which is my native resolution, and the display settings scale is set to 100 percent. Also, I attempted to reset the zoom by using the keys ctrl + zero, but nothing happened.

I experimented with the size and resolution, but nothing seemed to work.

I attempted to see if I could calibrate my display on my own, but was unable.

I’m utterly baffled as to how I can get my display back to the way it was before. Any assistance is much appreciated. Windows:Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362 (Build 18362). DabbiDooDa last edited this page on 17 April 2020, 06:50 PM.

However, your game is likely to go into full screen while you play, and you must immediately exit full screen. Try pressing F11 to see if it makes a difference.

Posted on April 18, 2020, at 7:35 a.m. Unfortunately, I don’t; in fact, I was just thinking about setting it up today before this unfortunate event occurred. Do you believe that resetting my windows to its factory settings would be effective? Of course, any other choice would be preferable to me. How long have you been playing Assassin’s Creed and how well has it performed for you? Before considering a factory restore, I just thought of something that could be of assistance, although I have no idea how effective it would be, especially as I am not a player.

Normally, the option Let Windows decide what’s best for my machine is selected; change it to Adjust for optimal performance instead.

DabbiDooDa Posted on April 18, 2020, at 1:58 p.m. Good proposal, but it didn’t work out in the end; I’m now looking for the personalized suggestions; however, there are a lot of postings on this site, even when searching for results using filters. When I first loaded up Assassin’s Creed, everything appeared to be working properly. However, it is worth adding that I believe I fiddled with the graphical settings in the game before my display became screwed up, in order to make it seem better. I’m thinking about fooling around with those settings again simply to see what happens.

Looking at my display more closely, because it’s cut off on all sides, it appears like my computer is showing for a 1080p monitor that is larger than my own monitor.

By the way, thank you so much for your assistance! You are the only one who has kept up with me and has offered to continue to assist me in a number of other places where I have posted an issue similar to this one.
