The only way that I could find to create a desktop shortcut for a specific website was to copy the URL from the address bar while on the website, right click on your Windows desktop screen and select new, then select shortcut and paste, or type the address into the space and click next and then finish while still on the website.

In Edge, navigate to the page for which you want a shortcut.

Select INTERNET EXPLORER from the drop down menu, and your desired page will reappear.
