Hi, This procedure is the same for both desktop computers and tablets; the only difference is the device being used.

1- Right-click on an empty region of the taskbar to bring up the context menu.

2- Select Settings from the drop-down menu.

You can do the same thing in tablet mode as well.

The taskbar will now vanish unless you move the mouse to the proper location of the screen, at which point it will miraculously reappear right in front of your eyes.

Please let me know if this is of assistance.

How to Hide the Windows Taskbar

Article in PDF format Article in PDF format Hiding the Windows taskbar when you aren’t using it might free up valuable screen real estate and allow you to display your desktop wallpapers more prominently. It is possible to conceal the taskbar via the Settings menu in Windows 10, or through the Taskbar Properties window in prior versions of Microsoft’s operating systems. The following are some options to consider if your taskbar refuses to disappear or remain hidden.

  1. 1 Select “Taskbar settings” from the context menu by right-clicking on the taskbar. Make sure you right-click on a blank space rather than an icon when you do this. A touchscreen user can right-click by pressing and holding the taskbar for a few seconds before releasing the button to see the right-click menu.
  • It’s also possible to enter the Start menu, pick “Settings,” touch or click “Personalization,” and then select “Taskbar” in the left menu
  • If you right-click and see “Properties” instead of “Settings,” you’re running an old version of Windows 10. In order to conceal the taskbar, you can refer to the steps in the following section.
  • 2Select “Automatically conceal the taskbar in desktop mode” from the drop-down menu. The taskbar will be hidden as soon as it is hidden. If you are using your computer in desktop mode, this will have an effect on the taskbar. You only need to be concerned with this setting if your computer does not function as a tablet computer. • s3 Turn on the option to “Automatically conceal the taskbar in tablet mode.” If your device is in tablet mode, this will prevent the taskbar from appearing. The tablet mode may be accessed by selecting the Notifications button in the lower-right corner of the desktop and then selecting the “tablet mode” button. 4 By dragging your mouse to the bottom of the screen, you may access the taskbar. When you move your pointer to the bottom of the screen, the taskbar will be visible to you. It will become visible again when you have moved your cursor away from it.
  • You can bring up the taskbar on a tablet by swiping up from the bottom of the screen
  • If you’re using a laptop, you can use the same method.
  1. 5Adjust the position of the taskbar on the screen. The “Taskbar position on screen” menu allows you to choose where the taskbar displays on your screen. You may find it more convenient to have it along one of the screen’s edges or at the top of the screen, depending on your preferences. The modification will take effect immediately. Advertisement
  1. To access the taskbar’s properties, right-click it and select “Properties.” Open the desktop view if you’re using Windows 8 by selecting “Desktop” from the Start menu or by pressing Win + Dfirst together. 2 Check the option next to “Auto-hide the taskbar.” These are accessible through the “Taskbar” tab

  1. 1Look for apps that are preventing the taskbar from closing. If a program’s icon in the taskbar is flashing, it will not shut. Choosing the flashing program will initiate the program and prevent the software from attempting to alert you. 2 Examine the symbols that appear in your system tray. The system tray, which is located in the lower-right corner of the screen next to the clock, may be accessed from any point on the screen. When trying to inform you, icons in your system tray, like the apps in your taskbar, may be preventing the taskbar from closing completely. To find out what the software requires, click on the notification icon next to it.
  • It is possible that the application icon has been obscured. To see any hidden icons, click on the arrow to the left of the row of icons
  • Otherwise, click here.
  • Notifications for individual programs can be turned off. Try removing all notifications if you’re frequently needing to ignore them, or if a notice won’t go away and the taskbar is still on.
  • Windows 10: Open the “Settings” menu by selecting “Start” > “Settings.” Select “System” from the drop-down menu, followed by “Notificationactions.” Select which applications should get alerts and turn them off, or turn them completely off at the top of the list. To customize your system tray icons in Windows 8, 7, and Vista, click on the Expand arrow next to the icons in your system tray, then select “Customize.” Locate the app for which you want to deactivate notifications and select “Hide icon and notifications.”
  • 4Try re-applying the settings one more time. Toggling the auto-hide function off and back on again might sometimes resolve the problem of a taskbar that refuses to disappear. Open the Settings (Windows 10) or Properties window once again, and disable the auto-hide function there as well. In Windows 8 and prior versions, press the “Apply” button. As soon as you’ve shut it off, turn it back on and apply the new settings. 5 Windows Explorer should be reset. Confirm that you wish to go through with the process. This will start a new PowerShell window with the title “Administrator.” 3 Copy and paste the following command into your browser. Make careful to copy and paste the following into the “Administrator” window:
  1. 4Start the command and wait for it to complete. While the program is running, you may see a few errors that may be safely ignored
  2. 5After the command has finished, click or press the Start menu to return to the previous screen. You should observe that the taskbar is properly hidden and remains hidden during the process. Advertisement

Methods to Hide Task Bar On Windows 10 When Playing Games

The first way for hiding the taskbar that is displayed when playing a game is really straightforward. This approach is further subdivided into two separate modes, which are determined by the device that you are using. The first mode is as follows: Either of the options you select will result in the taskbar being automatically hidden while you are playing games in full-screen mode. All it takes is a single button press to complete the task.

Isn’t it incredible? Another remarkable aspect of this technology is that it is compatible with any and all computers or laptops. It is possible that pressing F11 alone will not function on some PCs or laptops; thus, you will need to hit it in a combination, such as Fn + F11.

Method3: Restart the Windows Explorer

Another simple and successful solution is to restart Windows Explorer, which may be accomplished by using any of the two ways listed below:

1 stMethod

It is a straightforward procedure that may be used to restart the Windows File Explorer using the Task Manager.

  • This is where you must type “cmd” and then “taskkill /im explorer.exe”

  • Also, after any program action has been completed, as well as when you receive new calls, chats or email alerts, you may have this problem. The taskbar will immediately disappear once you have viewed the notice
  • It’s possible that certain programs running in the background are trying to get your attention as well by keeping the taskbar visible on the screen. It is necessary to go through the notifications as well as the background programs if this occurs when you have any background apps open. This will allow the taskbar to be hidden once more.
